Frequently asked questions about
the Zakopane Thermal Baths
Do you have to reserve tickets or can you just turn up?
You don’t have to reserve tickets for the Zakopane thermal baths in Chocholow. You can just turn up on the day and buy tickets at the reception but that comes with some risk. There is a limit to the number of customers who may be on site at any given time and on particularly busy days e.g. public holidays, weekends or school holidays then you may have to wait for some guests to leave the thermal baths before any further tickets are released.
If you have reserved tickets for the facility then you can normally skip the line for people buying tickets at reception, though at very busy times, pre-booked customers may have to wait a little while.
What are the opening times for the Zakopane thermal baths?
The thermal baths are open every day from 09:00 to 22:00 with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays when they close one hour later, at 23:00.
If you’re looking for the quietest times to visit then mornings are generally the best times or even late evening in the last couple of hourse before the baths close.
Do they have a party night at the thermal baths in Zakopane?
Yes!!
Weekend evenings are the time for some party fun with the resident DJ helping to get everyone into the party spirit.
It’s a LOT of fun as people bop away in the swimming pool but if that isn’t really your scene then don’t worry as there are quieter parts of the thermal baths where you can still relax.
Can you rent towels or do you have to bring your own? And what about flip flops?
If you don’t want to be bothered dragging your own towels to the Zakopane thermal spa then don’t worry as you can hire them once you arrive.
The rental price for towels is 10 PLN, so approximately £ 2, but beware, as if you happen to lose your towel then you will to pay a surcharge of 40 PLN (about £ 8).
Towels can be rented from the main ticket desk.
There is no option to rent flip flops but you may be able to find some at the two sports shops inside the facility however, there is no guarantee of success and they’re pretty expensive on site too. You’re better bringing your own, either from home or try and find some during your stay in Krakow before your thermal bath visit.
Staff do not insist that visitors wear flip flops and many people don’t but the floors inside are tiled and wet so to avoid any accidents it is recommended.
Are there lockers to keep your belongings safe?
Use of a locker is included in your admission price.
To open and lock the locker you simply use the wrist band provided to you at the entrance desk.
You can take your phone into the pool area. There are no restrictions but obviously doing so is at your own risk.
